The Body Garden

The Body Garden starts from the idea that, for lack of better alternatives, organic waste created by the human body becomes increasingly valuable on Mars. In the installation, both recognisable and unexplored bodily materials are preserved in data imprinted airtight bags, alongside the required tools to harvest them.

As the first phase in a bigger exploration into the role of bodily materials in an interplanetary environment, the installation manifests the concept of the human body as a garden to grow, harvest, and use bodily materials. What was once regarded as trash turns into a vital resource to sustain our everyday needs on the red planet.
